About the Parish Council

The Parish Council meets in the Village Hall, usually on the first Monday evening of each month, with the exception of August and December. Meetings normally start at 7.30pm, and every resident of the Parish has the right to attend as an observer.

A short session at the beginning of each meeting is allocated to a public forum, where residents can raise issues of concern. Members of the public do not have the right to speak for the rest of the Parish Council meeting, unless they are invited to do so.

The cycle of meetings starts in May. Agendas are posted on this website, and on the Parish Council noticeboard in the bus shelter, at least three working days before meetings, and Minutes are posted after each meeting.

Councillors are elected for a four year term. If vacancies occur between elections, the Council has the power to co-opt new members.

The Annual Parish Assembly – which is not a Parish Council meeting – takes place in April, when everyone in the Parish is entitled to attend and speak on any subject.
