Environment Improvement Group

One of the actions which came out of the Parish Plan survey was to form a village environment improvement group. The idea behind the group is to promote improvements to areas of the village for which the Parish Council are responsible, and to coordinate volunteers to carry out tasks. The group is made up of councillors and volunteers who are involved with village work. The first meeting of the group was held on June 15th 2016.

Work that has been carried out includes:

  • Tree planting in Middle Lane and Great Moor Road
  • Encouraging residents to look after tubs near their properties
  • Identifying volunteers who would be willing to clear snow for infirm villagers, and asking for names of those who would like to have help clearing snow from their houses
  • Tidying The Sixpenny Piece
  • Promoting a wildflower area in the western half of The Vicar’s Walk
  • Improvements to West End corner

PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PAGE FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS OF FORTHCOMING DATES FOR VOLUNTEERS
